FORBIDDEN ZONE PENALTY

On Friday 22 July, Christian Maurer (SUI1) was flying below the floor of the Red Bull X-Alps forbidden zone near Locarno and bumped up into it.

He was less than 100 metres inside the forbidden zone, and as such, was given a 24 hour penalty as per Red Bull X-Alps stated rules.

It's a quiet news day, with the race HQ relocating to Brig while athletes slug it out on foot.

We're hooking up with Chrigel Maurer this evening for a video interview.

Steve Nash (GBR1) is waiting for a break in the weather to launch from a mountain near Bolzano.

Richard Bungay reports its challenging working how where and when to fly, with forecasts proving wildly inaccurate today. At the moment heavy thunderstorms are prowling the Bolzano region.
