ORIOL FERNANDEZ ADDED TO ATHLETES' LIST

Oriol Fernandez has been confirmed as a Red Bull X-Alps 2011 participant following the withdrawal of his injured compatriot Ramon Morillas.
The 33-year-old from Barcelona will be the 31st athlete to take part in the 864km hiking and paragliding adventure race which begins in Salzburg on July 17, 2011.

MORILLAS AND PENNICIUK WITHDRAW FROM RED BULL X-ALPS 2011

Ramon Morillas (ESP) and Lloyd Pennicuik (AUS) have unfortunately withdrawn from the Red Bull X-Alps 2011.

Ramon, recently injured himself and underwent an operation on the meniscus of his right knee. Unfortunately it was found that he had also broken the anterior cruciate ligament.

Martin Romeo is the second South American athlete set to take the start this July at the 2011 Red Bull X-Alps. The 36-year-old Argentinean from Cordoba has been flying for ten years but is yet to see the Alps. He knows he will have work to do to keep up with the pack and is excited by the challenge.

"I have never been to the Alps," Martin says, "but my assistant, Martin Utera, knows the area well - he is giving me advice and I have spoken to other pilots that are from or have flown in the Alps.
